A Vision for Grateley
In 2040, the Parish of Grateley has remained a beautiful part of the Test Valley, retaining its distinctive characteristics, which create the unique rural environment. The Neighbourhood Plan has ensured there has been positive planning which supports sustainable development sensitive to its surroundings. The demand of local people to stay in the parish has been met, with new housing providing a mix of homes, affording opportunities for families to grow within the village and for our older population to downsize.
The design of new buildings compliments existing structures and the surrounding countryside, which have met the challenge of low carbon regulations and has, as far as possible, used environmentally friendly methods and materials.
Improvements to infrastructure and parking has been considered at the same time as development, ensuring Grateley is still a pleasant place to live.
Development and change in the parish have avoided its most sensitive landscapes, habitats, cherished open spaces, and Local Green Spaces for the enjoyment of the local community and the benefit of native wildlife, flora, and fauna.
